Für mich ist die ICM-Technik eine faszinierende Kombination aus Unschärfe und Schärfe. Ich liebe es, den Fokus auf Strukturen, Linien, Schwünge oder Bewegungen zu legen und sie durch die Linse meines Makroobjektivs herauszuarbeiten. Es ist erstaunlich, wie kleine, unscheinbare Dinge plötzlich so viel Aufmerksamkeit bekommen und wie die Ergebnisse noch tiefer auf mich wirken.
Alles um uns herum bewegt sich ständig und permanent. Selbst wenn wir ein Foto mit einer extrem kurzen Belichtungszeit von 1/4000 Sekunde aufnehmen, wie real ist es dann? Die Erde dreht sich um ihre Achse, bewegt sich im Weltraum, die Luft bewegt sich, auch wenn wir es nicht immer spüren, und Hitze und Kälte verändern sogar scheinbar festes Material wie Stahl. Dein Körper verändert sich sogar noch schneller als in einer Mikrosekunde. Zellen sterben und neue entstehen, dein Atem fließt, dein Herz pumpt dein Blut durch die Adern, deine Gedanken lösen Reaktionen aus, und so weiter. Also, nichts steht still. Wie real ist also unsere Wahrnehmung?
Jedes ICM-Bild ist ein Unikat und kann von einem selbst nicht einmal mehr reproduziert werden, und das ist für mich auch der besondere Reiz. Denn alles verändert sich ständig. Ist das Kunst?
For me, the ICM technique is a fascinating combination of blur and sharpness. I love to focus on structures, lines, curves or movements and to highlight them through the lens of my macro lens. It’s amazing how small, inconspicuous things suddenly get so much attention and how the results have an even deeper impact on me.
Everything around us is constantly and permanently moving. Even if we take a photo with an extremely fast exposure time of 1/4000 second, how real is it? The Earth rotates on its axis, moves in space, the air moves even if we don’t always feel it, and heat and cold change even seemingly solid material like steel. Your body changes even faster than a microsecond. Cells die and new ones are created, your breath flows, your heart pumps your blood through your veins, your thoughts trigger reactions, and so on. Plus, nothing stands still. How real is our perception?
Every ICM image is unique and cannot even be reproduced by yourself, and that is the special appeal for me. Because everything is constantly changing. Is that art?
